Shuk Engineering Distributors have the capability to produce or supply a full range of standard soft cut, metallic and semi-metallic gaskets.

We offer a comprehensive range of quality recognised brands of materials, including Non-Asbestos Fibre, Asbestos Fibre, flexible graphite, Inorganic fibre, modified PTFE styles, which can be cut to any shape or size. Our most common range are Raised Face and Full Face Gaskets to ASME standards.

We keep an extensive range of sheet material in stock, and this means we can manufacture gaskets for a wide range of clients in many industries, and to a wide range of specifications and tolerances. In addition we can precision cut non-standard gaskets using our highly sophisticated and technically advanced cutting machines.

Common Materials for Flat Cut Gaskets
These are generally available in thicknesses of 0.4mm, 0.8mm, 1.6mm, and 3.2mm. Sheet size is 1500mm x 1500mm (1500mm x 2000mm on request).

Expanded PTFE sheet
This material requires low compressive loads to seal, and can resist temperatures of -260°C, to plus 260°C and is an exotic material impervious to most chemicals. Acid and chemical resistant, it is a popular choice for electrical insulation.

Neoprene rubber
Neoprene has good chemical stability, and maintains flexibility over a wide temperature range. It is used in a wide variety of applications, mostly where water is involved.

Insertion rubber
Insertion rubber has good physical properties, some abrasion resistance and low temperature flexibility. It is manufactured with cotton reinforcement, to improve tear resistance and tensile strength. It is a good general purpose rubber, and is often used where water is involved.

Nitrile rubber
This form of synthetic rubber is generally resistant to oil, fuel, and other chemicals. It is used extensively in petro-chemical industries.

Potable EPDM rubber
Potable EPDM meets the NZ and Australian AS/NZ4020 Standard. Shuk is the biggest stockist of this rubber in NZ.
The main properties of EPDM are its outstanding heat, ozone and weather resistance. The resistance to polar substances and steam is also good. It has excellent electrical insulating properties. It is not suitable for fuels and oils.  This rubber is characterized by a wide range of applications. It is used in seals, hosing, electrical insulation, and is also used as a medium for water resistance in electrical cable-jointing, roofing membranes, geomembranes, rubber mechanical goods, plastic impact modification, thermoplastic, vulcanizates, and in many other applications.

Viton rubber
The key characteristic of this product is its ability to withstand higher temperatures and to resist a wide range of concentrated chemicals and acids.

Compressed Fibre Material  - Non Asbestos
